Inspired by the artist Jason deCaires Taylor, a British sculptor and environmentalist with significant contributions to climate change by making underwater sculptures that act as artificial habitats to promote the growth of marine organisms. "Consumed" is a piece that speaks to the pollution and its damage to coral reefs, showing a dystopian reality caused by global warming. The sculptures in this piece are covered in common pollutants such as plastic straws and bottle caps compared to the organic corals that typically adorn Taylor's sculptures. This serves as a symbolic representation of the damage inflicted on our ecosystems, highlighting the pollution caused by the consumption of plastic, leading everything to be consumed by our waste.
